DIY Welcome Mat.
Posted by VictoriaSep 18
Your dinner guests are on their way and you want to give them a special welcome. Take 2 minutes and make your own welcome mat for them! Here’s how it works:

Give the sidewalk a little sweep.

Grab some chalk.

Make your mat outline.

Write your message.

Add some details.

2 minutes later- you are ready for your arriving guests!
The best part is: if you want a new mat everyday, just add water and start again. I am off to get some chalk in different colors to decorate the rest of the sidewalk!

Come on in!
Thanks to all the kids who drew hopscotch squares all over the sidewalk for the “chalk” inspiration this morning. This was really fun!!!

Once again a wonderful idea Miss Vic! You are so inspirational, and most of your ideas cost little or nothing! I’m impressed.

A friend threw a party once, years ago and it became apparent that I was unsure on the location, despite the instructions she gave me. Much teasing ensued.
The day of the party though, I am walking through various small streets to find her house and after the first turn, I see a note on the sidewalk in chalk. “this way, karen!” and a little arrow.
“four more squares and turn RIGHT, karen!”
“over here, karen!”
And so on, until I got to her house. I look down the sidewalk past her house and see one more note:
“too far, karen!”
Anyway, that was more or less just a really long and involved joke and I was heckled for the rest of the night. It was still a really good idea for directing party guests though! Other guests had mentioned that the notes came in useful
